4.5/5. Giving the restaurant 5 stars for Google due to some great service and a great atmosphere in my opinion. This joint was really great. I loved the vibe and the service was very friendly and helpful. The ramen was also really great, and I like the twist this spot takes in creating their own unique broth (chicken and pork based). I originally came here to try their Tsukemen since I haven't seen it around Denver in ramen joints before and left very satisfied. It's definately beaten out a few spots I've tried in other, larger cities. I also tried their signature ramen and was also really happy with it. It's not the taste I'd go for every night but it's a fun and unique flavor. This place ready stands out with it's homemade noodles in my opinion. Very good and some of the best I've had in Denver. I'd consider trying to buy their noodles and making my own broth at home if I ever find the need to try making my own ramen. Overall I'm really happy with the spot and I hop business is going well for them. There weren't a ton of people in the restaurant when I dined in on a Friday night, but they definitely deserve it in my opinion.

As a Japanese, I must say that they had the worst tsukemen ever. First of all, it smelled bad (the smell of bad pork). The broth was super greasy and oily. I almost threw up. Broth should be broth and not 80% oil. The noodles tasted like gum. I wasted $30 which I could've eaten better things. The service was good. But other than that, I don't recommend this place.

I don't like leaving negative reviews, but this was my second visit to Ramen Star and I paid the bill with half a bowl of ramen in front of me. I've probably had 50 or 60 different bowls of ramen across Japan, Europe, and the US, and the "Ramen Star" bowl here falls toward the very bottom of the list. First off was the price. The Ramen Star bowl is $18 and comes with noodles, Chashu, and negi onions. Period. Add an egg and some nori for $4, and if you want 6 slices of bamboo shoots it costs $3 extra. Price-to-quality was a big letdown. Food-wise: The broth is thick - like a soup ramen - which wasn't mentioned in the menu. It sat very heavy unlike typical tonkatsu broths. The bamboo shoots were served ice-cold which was shocking when I took my first bite. The egg was unseasoned, and was semi-firm on the outside (how I like it) and very runny on the inside (unlike their photos online). The nori though was nice and crisp, and the star of the show were the noodles - they were they perfect thickness - not too thick, not too thin. But the Chashu...the Chashu was very disappointing. It was a thick cut, but had no color or texture to it. Not sure how they prepare it - maybe sous vide? But they don't sear it at all, so it ends up a single uniform gooey consistency. I left the second piece in the bowl which is something I *never* do. Because of this, everything in the bowl had the same consistency. But as I got toward the bottom I started to taste what I could only describe as "the taste of cardboard", so I stopped eating. Not to get too philosophical about it, but the bowl felt like it was made with zero thought toward food consistency and flavor. And that's disappointing because this place has SUCH good reviews. Everything else was fine. The place is bright, clean, service is fine, speed of food delivery was good, menu options are diverse (they even have Mazemen which is one of my favorite dishes but now I'm worried about going back and being let down). Hopefully my experience was a one-off, but I'd recommend instead to go to Jinya Ramen, Oishii Ramen, or Katsu Ramen in Aurora.

Ordered the Ramenstar and the Tsukemen ramen star. Even though, it says Tonkatsu, the tare is very unique so the ramen really has its own thing going on.The toppings and regular and rarer chasu are delicious. The noodles are some of my favorite that I have had in Denver. The tsukemen is definitely on the greasier and thicker side compared to a lot of ramen places I have tried in the US. Love it though. :)

I revisited this place on Dec 13, 2021 and experienced the same friendly service. We came a little early, but the door was unlocked and we were greeted warmly and seated. I love visiting a place where I feel like they are happy working there and happy to serve me. The interior looked upgraded from my last visit. I loved the flooring and the wood panel on the wall. There was a big screen over the top of the kitchen entrance that had ambient coloring changing screens. The food and service was awesome as usual. Pricing seemed more expensive than my last visit, but since the pandemic, it's been my experience in other restaurants as well. I liked that the employees were masked.

Best Ramen in Denver! I spend a lot of time in Japan, and this place is a gem. Oishi desu! Service, ambiance, decor and food are all top notch. The Gyoza was Narita-san gyoza-house authentic, and the kara’age chicken was perfection. The Ramen? Complex, flavorful and house made. Not rushed. All natural, and lovingly prepared as it is in Japan. Not just food. It betrays an artist’s hand. Nicole is amazing. Personable, knowledgeable, attentive, genuine, and with a smile and an aura that will enhance your entire dining experience.

Local friends took me to this place and I can not believe it isn’t packed from the moment they open. Every dish is done with fantastic attention to detail and is as tasty as anything you’ll get in Japan. Not exaggerating here. The gyoza …
